Come and feel refreshed in Pihkala!
We offer a variety of fun activities, and thanks to our indoor sports hall you won’t have to mind the weather. Here are a few examples of the activities we offer:
Cable track descent over the river Siikajoki
An exciting descent over the river on a cable track, throughout the year! Length of the track is 120 m! Note! Minimum weight 35 kg (77 pounds).
Archery and Axe throwing
Archery can be organized both outside and at the indoor shooting range. Axe throwing is organized outdoors only!
Walking excursions, fishing, canoeing, rowing
The staff organizes guided walking excursions along the nature paths. Fishing is available at the nearby river Siikajoki or at the artificial lake Uljua (5 km). Both waters are rich with fish. (Please bring your own fishing-equipment.) Canoes can be rented out from the house.
Kicksledding and river skating during the winter season, rollerskating (skating ring) during the summer season
The wintery river Siikajoki offers great possibilities for cross-country skiing, skating and kicksledding. The Kestilä village offers many cross-country skiing tracks with lighting (distance 10 km). Pihkala also has a 300 m long rollerskating ring. Kicksleds can be rented for use at Pihkala.
Wall climbing and stacked crate climbing
Wall climbing and stacked crate climbing is possible in our indoor sports hall! Our wall climbing track is 7 meters high. Necessary equipment and guidance is included.
Fun outdoor activities
Kick bike relay races, tandem cross-country skiing, kicksled relay races, various games for getting to know one another, beach buggy rides for kids, etc.
Fun indoor activities
Indoor curling, badminton, basketball, volleyball, floorball, precision golf and frisbee, problem solving games and various other activities!
And much more
The estate grounds also offer various possibilities for independent activities: giant trampoline, kickbikes, nature paths, various yard games as well as a private beach. There are horses, sheep, dogs and cats on the estate for you to cuddle.
Horses
Country Manor Pihkala cooperates with the adjoining Pihkala stable. Approximately 6 trained horses and ponies, two riding fields and an indoor riding hall. Leena, who runs the stable, is a riding instructor.
Fun team relay races and tournaments
Our supportive staff will guide your group in various team games that build cooperative skills, humorous Olympics can be organized upon request!
Evening gatherings by the hut and at the barn restaurant (karaoke, dancing)
Evening gatherings with a theme option. All evening gatherings are held as private occasions.
Atmospheric river boat cruises on the m/s Pihkala
Cruises along the river Siikajoki are organized upon request during the summer season. The ferry holds 35 persons. Duration of the cruise is 1-3 hours. The ferry is roofed so there are no weather restrictions. Upon special request we’ll provide a coffee service and a ferry sauna!
